BusPa, the Grandfather (Pa) who has the buses is the name coined by his grandson Ben when trying to explain the “other” grandfather.
John Cronshaw (Buspa) is the Founding Director of the group of companies who has always had an interest (it is really a ‘passion’) in planning and operating tours. From very early times of arranging school excursions both to Oberon for friends to bring their classes to experience rural activities, arranging excursions to features such as the Snowy Mountains Scheme during its construction and extended safari tours into Central Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania for students from Oberon Central School, John’s ‘hobby’ just grew and continues to grow.
After moving to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains to establish Golden West Tours, through a deputation at his local church, John learned of the Bush Church Aid Society (BCA). While BCA is a voluntary society of the Anglican Church, it is often the only Protestant Christian Church presence in many remote and rural areas throughout Australia and John’s interest in a voluntary capacity sees him on the National Council and Executive of BCA, and is currently the chairman of the NSW/ACT Regional Committee. He has planned and operated many tours to Outback situations for BCA and some of these tours are also made available through the CFT touring programme.
As BusPa he writes Buspa’s Corner for inclusion in the BCA magazine The Real Australian, and this is also picked up by the Mothers’ Union magazine Mia Mia.
Copies of these articles are included under the heading Buspa’s Articles, and a CD called “Buspa’s Moving Devotions” is available at Buspa’s Shop, along with other selected items such as CDs and some special posters.
John is an Executive Director of the companies responsible for CFT, still drives coach tours around Australia and also escorts some of the international tours.
